Elena has worked for years in Milan, Paris, London and Geneva for the largest international communication agencies and consultancies (Publicis Group, WPP, Young & Rubicam brands, Landor, Wunderman Thompson) and as Studio Sacco in Milan supporting companies with her team in the creation, positioning and management of their brands to drive business results, often involved as temporary director.
Throughout her career, Elena has held leadership roles in communication and brand management, including Communication Director at Boscolo Hotels and Comune di Milano. Most of all in recent years as Director of the School of Communication at IED – Istituto Europeo di Design, she directed the whole courses offer (bachelors, masters and short courses) , where the institution was recognised Italy’s Best Creative School for three consecutive years under her leadership and reputed to be the one of the best creative school in Europe awarded several times globally (CLIO, D&AD, ONE SHOW, WPP AWARD, ADCI, ADCE and BEST ITALIAN CREATIVE SCHOOL at SPOT SCHOOL AWARD). Elena is the Advisory Board President of DUDE and Fondazione Dude President.
Since 2023, Elena has served as Director of Strategy, Business and Relations at Raffles Milano. She has also taught at Politecnico di Milano, ISTUD, and IED, and is the author of Brand Revolution and The Insight, published by Lupetti Editori.
All students in Visual Design bachelor begin with a shared foundation in visual language, typography, brand design, editorial design, digital communication.
As they progress through the programme, students may continue to deepen their studies with the Communication Design and Management specialisation. This option integrates the core Visual & Graphic Design curriculum with targeted contents in branding, communication strategy, project management, and digital marketing, progressively introduced from the end of the first year.
The three-year programme combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience in communication, design, and management. During the first year, students build a solid foundation in design principles, visual communication, and creative methodologies.
In the second year, they deepen their understanding of strategic design and explore how communication operates within agencies, companies, and contemporary professional contexts. Through practical projects and workshops, students develop creative, analytical, and strategic skills while gaining a broader understanding of branding, marketing, and emerging technologies.
The third year focuses on developing an individual creative identity and applying strategic thinking to original communication and marketing projects. Students bring together the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the programme in a final thesis project and professional portfolio. The curriculum also includes Brand Design, Photography, Marketing, and Prompt Design, preparing graduates to work across the evolving fields of communication, design, and creative management.
