Jewel and accessory, handcrafted artifacts par excellence, accompany with their strong symbolic value, the history of man from its origins. From talisman to inescapable sign of power and wealth, from simple accessory to fetish, the jewel, the shoe and the bag have become cult objects that define the relations between the individual and the social sphere and the intimate relationship between the personal being and his or her putting himself or herself on stage in the theater of life.

Valeria Bersanetti was born in Padua in January 1980, she initially trained at Cà Foscari in Venice -Course in Conservation of Cultural Heritage- and then in Fashion Design at the CFP/ AFOL institute of the City of Milano. Her professional path is formed and affirmed within the Style Office of Marni as Head designer of the jewelry, bags and small leather goods lines from 2005 to 2018. She currently works as a Consultant Designer in the area of Accessories design for several brands , including: Moncler Grenoble, Colville, Agnona, High , LaDoubleJ. In 2018 she founded her own brand of bags and accessories Adais. In 2023 she co-founded the concept store L'appartamento39 in Padua, Italy.

Program

Jewelry and accessory designers require a solid technical and planning education in research and in the interpretative analysis of the social and symbolic context of the client. During the first year, the student will acquire historical and applied knowledge such as technical and illustrative drawing, materials and their modelling, the history of fashion, as well as the correct methodology for developing their own design trends. In the second year, the culture of 3D digital modeling will be deepened. During the third year the student develops his own stylistic and design ideas and knows how to use 3D renderings. He also possesses knowledge of economics and marketing. The elaboration of the project and the final thesis are the conclusion of this course of study.

Who is it for

The course is aimed at candidates with a high school diploma and candidates from Italian and foreign universities, driven by a passion for design, style and costume and eager to pursue a career in the world of jewellery and accessories, thanks to a completely original aptitude and passion for shaping and giving value to materials, with expertise, creativity and originality.

Title

Upon completion of the studies, Raffles Milan issues a Certificate of Completion. You can also apply for an eCertificate issued by Raffles University

Professional opportunities

After completing this course, students will be able to undertake the main professions in the world of jewelry and accessories: designer of fine jewelry and costume jewelry, watch designer, eyewear designer, handbag and shoe designer, 3D technique model maker and illustrator of jewelry and accessories, from the most traditional to the most recent and innovative.
