Practice, theory, and more practice is the principle behind Raffles Milano’s three-year courses, a training program that structures the mind, provides a solid technical foundation, and encourages students to broaden their horizons.
The Design program at Raffles Milano unites Product Design and Interior Design within a dynamic and collaborative environment. Through a shared foundation in design thinking, research, and project development, students learn to transform ideas into products, spaces, and experiences. By combining creativity with technical knowledge and innovation, the program prepares designers to address the challenges of contemporary living and shape the future of design.
The Product Design Program at Raffles Milano prepares designers to interpret contemporary transformations through creativity, innovation, and technology. By integrating design culture, research, sustainability, and Artificial Intelligence, students learn to develop products, services, and experiences that respond to the needs of a rapidly evolving world.
Design as innovation, technology, and impact. Studying design today means understanding the relationship between people, objects, spaces, and technologies. At Raffles Milano, students develop a design approach that combines critical thinking, experimentation, digital tools, and Artificial Intelligence to transform ideas into concrete and innovative solutions.
All students in Product Design bachelor begin with a shared foundation in design culture, methodology, representation, materials, technologies, and digital tools, acquiring the skills needed to address the challenges of contemporary design. Students can then choose between two pathways:
Product Design: A pathway focused on the development of products, services, and systems, with particular attention to innovation, sustainability, materials, prototyping, manufacturing, and emerging technologies.
Product Design + Interior Design: A pathway that combines Product Design education with advanced competencies in spatial design. Students explore also interior design, lighting, materials, furniture, and user experience, developing a comprehensive design vision that spans from objects to environments. Through projects, workshops, lectures, and industry collaborations, students are encouraged to develop their individual strengths while building a flexible and competitive professional profile, ready to operate within today’s global design industry — whether in design, creative direction, exhibition design, interior design, service design, product design, design management.
An accredited degree and a specialized certificate: All students, AFTER SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF COURSES AND RELEVANT EXAMS AND CREDITS, earn a First Level Academic Diploma in Product Design, a qualification officially recognized by the Italian Ministry of Education (AFAM/MUR) First Level Academic Diploma in PRODUCT DESIGN (D.M. n.1216 of Aug. 31, 2023). Additionally, each student receives a Raffles Certificate – supplement – in their chosen specialisation—Product Design or Interior Design—which highlights their area of specialization, credits and the skills acquired. Upon request, students graduated in INTERIOR DESIGN, can also request a Raffles University Malesia e-certificate after the payment of an admin fee.
