This course is designed for those who wish to explore the infinite creative possibilities of contemporary embroidery. Much more than a simple crafting pastime, contemporary embroidery is an art that mixes tradition and innovation in a constant path of research and experimentation. During this course, the techniques of free needle embroidery will be explored, exploring interpretations from the most traditional to the most innovative. Different materials will be used to enhance knowledge and give impetus to students' intuition and personal creativity in this field.
Miriam Cozzi- For several years now, she has passionately dedicated herself to the study and practice of the art of both historical and contemporary hand embroidery, exploring its many manifestations and applications in the fields of fashion and costume. With a diploma in Haute Couture Embroidery obtained at the prestigious Ecole Lesage in Paris, she furthered her studies in the history and tradition of embroidery at the Fondazione Lisio in Florence and specialised in the conservation of textile archives by studying at Afol Moda in Milan and the Fashion Research Italy Foundation in Bologna. She currently collaborates with several tailor's shops and a textile restoration workshop. She dedicates herself to private teaching, designing and leading Haute Couture embroidery courses at fashion schools. Her professional goal is to continue working on projects that aim to meet the challenges of the contemporary world in different areas where garment decoration techniques are the subject of research and conservation, professional development, creativity and self-care.
