We are proud to announce that Simone Di Vita, Fashion Design student at Raffles Milano, has won the Apparel Apparel category of the 11th edition of Intreccincantiere, the prestigious competition promoted by Manifattura di Domodossola in collaboration with Lineapelle and Banco BPM, dedicated to creativity and innovation in braided design.
Simone’s haute couture project draws inspiration from the Sicilian tradition of wicker baskets, reinterpreted through a sartorial lens. The weaving motif — a symbol of local craftsmanship — comes to life through intricate passementerie applied along the garment’s edges. Its structure, featuring generous volumes paired with a corset that shapes the silhouette, strikes a balance between sharp tailoring and theatricality. The result is a sophisticated and striking look that celebrates Mediterranean culture with a contemporary touch.
The jury — composed of renowned designers, journalists, and industry leaders — selected the most original and innovative projects from over 100 entries submitted by students from leading international fashion and design academies.
The official award ceremony will take place on October 23, 2025 in the prestigious setting of the Museo Bagatti Valsecchi di Milano.
Congratulations to Simone for this remarkable achievement, a testament to the creativity, research, and talent of our students.
